Learning Ladder Childcare has recruited a new apprentice to help look after children at its setting in Forest Town, Mansfield.

Shelley-Marie Boardman, from Mansfield Woodhouse, will undergo her training at Learning Ladder’s Sherwood East nursery in Braemar Road, close to Clipstone.

While she trains, she will be supported by staff in all aspects of childcare and with the teaching of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Shelley-Marie, herself a mum to a little boy who is 20 months old, said: “I’ve always wanted to go into childcare and this was the perfect opportunity to follow my passion.

Helping children to learn and play

“It’s brilliant here, and everyone is really nice. I love the fact that the children spend so much time outside and exploring.”

Amanda Squires, founder of Learning Ladder Childcare, also recently recruited an apprentice for her nursery at Oak Tree Children’s Centre.

She said: “Shelley-Marie had a great interview and showed some wonderful attributes that will help her to develop her childcare skills. At Learning Ladder, it’s about helping children to learn and play and develop, and it’s important that we get the right people to help them to that.”
